Story
On Friday 26 June 2026, I will be sleeping out on the street as ALABARÉ host its first ever BIG Sleep at St Paul’s Cathedral with a public sleepout, bringing people together in a powerful act of solidarity for veterans facing homelessness.
This is a landmark campaign — a movement committed to ensuring no veteran is left without a home, support, or hope.
I hope that you feel you can contribute to being part of something extraordinary.
A group of us from the Livery Companies will be sleeping out that night.
Why We’re Sleeping Out
Veterans across the UK are experiencing a growing homelessness crisis:
2,270 veteran households in England are homeless or at risk
An estimated 7,500 veterans UK-widewide are homeless or in emergency accommodation
13,231 people slept rough in London last year, including many former service personnel
ALABARÉ has seen a 121% increase in veterans needing urgent support
This campaign exists because these numbers aren’t just statistics — they’re people who served our nation and deserve better.
