Like many people we have been upset to our very cores by the distressing images and stories coming out of Palestine. We have felt helpless and sickened as we are confronted daily with new images of dead and injured children. We feel moved to raise what money we can for Medical Aid For Palestinians. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) has launched an unprecedented emergency response amid growing critical health needs in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, resulting from the current escalation of violence. In their latest update (11th June 2024) MAP stated -

-More than 37,084 Palestinians have been killed and 84,494 have been injured. Thousands more are thought to remain missing under the rubble of buildings.

-The Palestinian Ministry of Health has confirmed at least 500,000 cases of infectious diseases, noting that the actual number is likely to be higher. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported that cases of meningitis, jaundice, impetigo, chickenpox and other upper respiratory tract infections have been recorded. lack of access to safe water and Gaza’s water and sanitation, young children face heightened risk of infectious and waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid.

-There are no fully functional hospitals left in Gaza. The main maternity hospital in the Gaza Strip's crowded southern city of Rafah has stopped admitting patients (UNFPA)

Palestinian people desperately need medical supplies and medical professionals - desperately. MAP can bring them.

We know that financial pressures within the UK are difficult and we are all feeling the strain but lives are at stake and we would want aid delivered to our children if the roles were reversed.
