In memory of Mum

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·

Community Hospice provides free end of life care to anyone living with a terminal illness in Greenwich and Bexley, supporting around 3,000 people each year. Our goal is to help everyone we care for to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle.

Story

I am running the Barcelona and London Marathon in memory of my Mum to raise funds for the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice. (6 weeks apart.)

On December 9th 2012 my Mum, Sarah Douglas, passed away after loosing a short battle with a rare form of lung cancer. Mum, who didn’t smoke, died at 49 years old leaving behind three sons aged between 8 - 18 at the time.

The hospice cared for my mum towards the end of life and are committed to providing high quality, compassionate care for people with terminal illness. They also act as support for the families during an exceptional difficult time.
