On the 10th of February 2024, I will be taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in support of CW+ and their Best For You programme. CW+ is the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.​ Their mission is to work alongside their Trust to create world-class facilities, drive innovation and research, and enhance patient and staff wellbeing. Best For You is a new approach to mental health care designed for – and in consultation with – young people and their families. In 2023 it’s Day Service opened its doors for the first time, enabling young people to recover in the community, supported by their family and friends, as well as reduce the pressure on NHS inpatient services. Best For You is helping to address the growing and urgent crisis in young people’s mental health, making it easier for them to access the help they need. The role of CW+ in this project includes raising the seed funding required to deliver the programme and providing non-clinical leadership. As part of this programme, CW+ are building two state-of-the-art NHS spaces, creating outstanding environments in which professionals can care for young people’s mental and physical health in new and bespoke ways. As well as this, Best For You brings together a wide range of digital resources on one website, providing 24/7 support for young people. Please donate if you can, your support is truly appreciated!
