Together with a passionate group of cyclist friends, I am gearing up to take on the Great Selby Bike Ride on 17 May 2026, to champion and raise funds for Spirit of Christmas, a registered charity that runs socially inclusive family projects and events at Christmas time and throughout the year predominantly in the Selby and surrounding areas. The aims of our projects are to:

1) provide toys to disadvantaged families to promote learning and the development of social skills in children

2) bring Christmas joy and community spirit at what is a stressful and financially difficult time of year for many

3) provide free toys so that no child wakes up on Christmas Day without a special present to open

4) run monthly stay and play group for young children living with neurodiversity

Since the Charity began in 2009 we have provided for over 11,500 children and their families.

Our goal is to raise £500 to support these vital programs. Every donation fuels this mission — helping to spread joy, build community spirit, and ease financial burdens during challenging times and enables us to continue this great work.
