Story
Thanks for supporting my pet bullock , and he really is this cowboy’s 8 year old pet !! I thought I’d get him noticed and hopefully raise some funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, a deserving charity.
I believe him to be the biggest bullock in the UK and he lives on our farm in The Isle of Ely.
He was born 8 years ago to a first calving cow. His Mum needed a hand to love her calf, so for the first week we helped Stuart to suckle from his Mum and get his milk from her. Then they soon bonded……and so did I .
He was always so friendly as a calf, and as he grew over the months , he would always come over to me , leaving the rest of the herd, for his special feed and a brush ! Always so docile and gentle.
Then the time came to be sold at a livestock market with his mates. So when the lorry came early one morning, I literally had to push Stuart on the lorry and the lorry left to go to Melton Mowbray cattle market.
My wife and I followed in the car. After 5 minutes I looked at my wife and said, “ I can’t sell Stuart…he’s a big part of our farm..I would miss him so much “.
So a frantic phone call to the Auctioneer in which I explained that I had fallen in love with one of my herd of cattle and please DON’T SELL him. Much to the auctioneers merriment, he said Stuart would be put in a safe place to be returned home ❤️❤️.
So, he is happily living on our farm with the rest of the cows . A home for life.
We don’t know how much he weighs as he too big to go through a weigh crush and refuses to go on a trailer to be weighed that way !
Stuart is just a gentle giant. So we thought he now should be recognised and bring a smile to peoples faces. Hence his walk around Ely Leisure Village.
A different kind of big pet raising money for charity.
If he appears on , Have I Got News For You, I hope both teams will donate for GOOD OLE STU !!!!
Cheers,
The Lone Ranger.
