Team Summer and Shaun - Snowdon Trek

Snowdon Trek · 19 April 2025
I am now five years cancer free and I am living with a life long disability called Avascular Necrosis in both of my distal femurs. I have been living with this since 2018. Unfortunately, my pain is getting worse and there are no surgeries or other medication that can help. I am giving myself this one last challenge before I start to rest and look after myself. As it is the last challenge I wanted to go big! As a team we are trekking Snowdon to raise money for Teens Unite.
Teens Unite supports young people fighting cancer to live their best life, while others search for a cure. Teens Unite supported me during my cancer diagnosis. They helps me feel human again. They offer activities inside and outside of hospital. They adapted during 2020 and went digital to make sure young people with cancer were not left out. The work they provide is so important. I can’t stress enough how amazing and important their work is. It’s an honour to do this in their name and help fundraise for them and give back to an incredible charity!
We inspire young people to recognise their potential now and in the future and empower them to live every moment to the full. When you're faced with cancer, plenty of people will tell you what you can't do, but we show these young people what they can do; not letting the 'c' word hold them back or define who they are.
