On Sunday 9th March 2025 a group of us from The Real Greek, including Christos’s family and friends, will be walking a half marathon between 8 of our London based The Real Greek restaurants, to raise money for the fantastic charity, Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Throughout our lives, if we’re lucky, we get to interact with a few very special people. Our Operations Director, Christos Karatzenis was one of those rare, gifted people. He was the heart and soul of The Real Greek behind the scenes, a true leader who loved his job and was

respected by all. The Real Greek was his passion and he made it his mission to bring the taste of Greece and original Greek hospitality to every person dining in our restaurants.

Sadly, in February 2020, Christos lost a very short and unfair battle with pancreatic cancer, leaving us unexpectedly…

To honour the memory of Christos, who’s loss was devastating to us, we have partnered with Pancreatic Cancer UK and we are continually raising funds through lots of different activities, such as donating 25p for every Pork Skewer meze dish that is ordered in the restaurants. This #WalkTheRealGreek challenge is something we hope to do annually, in partnership with Pancreatic Cancer and with Vasilis Karatzenis (Christos’ brother) company, VDK Capital.
