Story

On July 23rd I'll be running the 'Beacons Way 100', a 100 mile ultramarathon starting in Abergavenny and ending in Llangadog. The route traverses the Beacons Way National Trail, crossing the highest peaks in South Wales, including Pen Y Fan and the Black Mountains, with just over 6,000m ascent in total.

I've decided to run in aid of North London Action for the Homeless (NLAH), a local charity based in Hackney.

The NLAH runs sessions for homeless people, people who are socially isolated, and those in financial hardship in Hackney. They serve nutritious meals twice weekly, offer showers, haircuts, laundry and advocacy and run a community garden project.

They are a small charity with 4 part-time staff and about 30 regular volunteers, and provide support for up to 100 people weekly.

While the NLAH receives grant funding from various charitable trusts, extra donations like yours go a long way in ensuring they can keep their doors open every week.
