Fundraising for Autism NI (PAPA)
Story
Following last years great cycle and hugely successful fund raising event for Autism NI I've once again decided to raise money for this great charity. Once again I'm joined by David Bowen - and sadly due to unforeseen circumstances we will not have the company of Robert and Doug to provide encouragement in their own unique way!
Our route takes us through the tiny mountainous country of Andorra, where our main challenge lies in the long twisting climb of the Port d’Envalira (2408m), which has featured several times in the Tour de France and Tour of Spain. From Andorra we cross into Spain, riding south through the beautiful Catalan Pyrenees to wonderful Barcelona - it will be our toughest cycle yet!
Autism NI is a parent led partnership organisation having been formed to promote positive collaboration between parents, professionals and individuals with Autism to address the need for appropriate services. This partnership ethos extends to the charities promotion of a multi disciplinary, cross agency response to issues such as assessment, diagnosis and early intervention. The charity's mission to support parents and individuals with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder is core to its work and is based on individualised assessed need. The charity is committed to promoting best practice, accessible to all irrespective of family circumstances.
