We are here at every step to support you with and beyond cancer.

Story

In November last year our friend and cycling club member Richard Collin’s teenage son Dan tragically lost his fight against cancer.  A number of Richard's friends who have ridden with Richard over the years are undertaking a cycling challenge to raise funds and awareness for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Trust, which provided exceptional clinical support for Dan Collin and a great deal of support for Richard.

25 of us (plus a great support crew) will be riding from Rother Valley in Haslemere (where Richard lives) to Rother Valley in Sheffield (where Dan lived and worked) and back over the weekend of 12/13th July (a total of 715km with over 8000m of ascent). It's too far for most of us to achieve this distance, so the days have been split into 4 stages each, and we'll each aim to ride between 1 and 3 of those stages, coordinating with other relay teams on the road. We'll set off at 05:30 on Saturday morning and hope to get to Sheffield in time for dinner at 20:00 ... then get up and do it all again the next day!

It would mean a lot to me if you'd sponsor me for this challenge, and support our efforts to raise awareness and funds for Weston Park Hospital Cancer Trust. No amount is too small, so even if you only have a couple of quid to spare, I'd be grateful.

You can follow our progress on Twitter over the 12/13th July under hashtag #vcghrvc and Tweet your support to @peteross1 or @vcghevents.
