Story
Peter sadly lost his life during the early hours of Saturday 11th February in a terrible accident while he was unstrapping a load of straw on his lorry. A stack of three bales collapsed off the side of the lorry while peter was rolling up a strap beside them, he was crushed immediately and died at the scene
Peter was a very experienced and heavily qualified driver who had been doing the job (specifically straw haulage) for many years. This horrific accident shows that however experienced you are and however well you know the job, accidents can still happen.
With the permission of peters family, we have set this page up so fellow drivers and hauliers, friends of peters and people who knew him over the years can donate as a way of paying their respects and helping a good cause.
All donations received will go to the Yellow Wellies Foundation who promote farm safety and educate the next generation of farmers and farm workers on the dangers of the industry and how to be safe on the farm.
