Story

I was supposed to run the marathon last year, however falling on the ice while training left me with a shattered elbow. So I deferred, and after three surgeries and a year of weekly physio me and the dodgy elbow are going to have another go.

I'm running for The Prince's Trust because in 2001 they helped me to start my business. The Trust gave me confidence to get started and real practical skills that I still rely on after all this time. I now tell my story to the groups of young entrepreneurs being supported by the trust, as a volunteer speaker.

The Trust really believe that young people - even if they have had a non-perfect start in life or are in tough situations - can do great things. So help me to give back to The Prince's Trust, and encourage me and the wonky elbow as we tackle the marathon in 2014.

Updates 2

I ran The London Marathon! Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far. I have written a blog post about my marathon experience - in short it was epic, amazing, hot and rather painful: http://rachelandrew.me.uk/blog/2014-04-14-i-ran-the-london-marathon-2014

As part of my London prep I ran the Gloucester 20 mile race today. Glorious day for it but very tough going. What they call "undulating" round here is different to what we called undulating in Maidenhead!

Been following your training tweets. On the days you were running 18 miles for training, I was dreading my 4 miles for training (and 4 miles is HARD for me). Hah. All the best, have fun.

You'll probably be the most mentally-prepared runner there after your extra year of training! You're bonkers for doing it, and that makes it all the more admirable :)
