Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have chosen raise this money because the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough have been incredible throughout my treatment there. I have a rare disease called microcystic lymphangioma, so I am having Intralesional Bleomycin Injections into my tongue. Last year, I was in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a coma after my first round of treatment. We can’t thank the team enough for everything they did for me and my family while I was going through this incredibly tough time.
To give back, I would like to raise money for the James Cook Hospital, for new equipment and kit that can help other children like me as well as the staff there. The money raised will go towards light panels and a light box projector to enhance the sensory experiences of children forced to stay in bed in PICU, a TV with DVDs for PICU, smelly oils for anaesthetic masks, toys and books etc. If enough money is raised (£20k - so much but hey, I’m ambitious!!) then we would love to donate the money to buy an ultrasound machine which would allow the hospital to help so many more children like me undergoing Bleomycin treatment.
