Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Josef and his family are very close friends of both myself and my family.
A bit about Cavernomas.
A typical cavernoma looks a bit like a blackberry. It is filled with blood that flows slowly through vessels that are like 'caverns'. Cavernomas vary in size from a few millimetres to several centimetres.
Symptoms:
seizures (the most common symptom, which can be treated with medication)
a stroke (due to bleeding in the brain)
A bit about Josef.
Joe is a wonderful person, with lots of energy, a big heart and a big smile.
In 2012, Joe (age 15) had numerous seizures which lead to him having to be put into an induced coma.
It was later discovered that he has multiple cavernomas (clusters of abnormal blood vessels) in his brain.
This condition is extremely rare, esimated to occur in 1 in 400,000 people in the UK alone.
The past 2 years have been a tough journey for Joe, his family and his friends, with his plans for future having to change dramatically. Joe is currently on medication but his seizures still continue to this day, some worse than others.
It'd mean a lot to him, his family and myself if you could donate even the smallest amount, every little helps.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
