One last fundraiser on April 19th in Tynemouth with Tom Mitchell, Mr Ben Sir & Last Detail. Check my twitter for info! @TrekkingforToma
The target has been hit! Had so much fun these last 5 months & has made me realise what I want to do. Thank you to everyone that has helped/donated xx
In May 2013 I will be flying from Newcastle to Amman to take part in a mammoth 83km trek across Jordan to Petra in memory of Jordan Thompson finishing on what would have been his 21st birthday.
I am doing this to raise money for the Toma Fund which is a North East charity dedicated to the memory of Jordan Thompson who passed away aged 15 after his battle with leukaemia and his cousin, Sophie Atay, who sadly died aged 2 from neuroblastoma.
The Toma Fund is an independent charity and it is dedicated to helping children, teenagers, young adults (between the ages of 0-24years) and their families, who are going through treatment for childhood cancers in the North East and Cumbria.
By distributing the funds raised The Toma Fund aims to do the following:
Support families who are experiencing financial difficulties caused by caring for and supporting their child through cancer treatment
Provide equipment for children and young people going through cancer treatment
Provide opportunities for children, young people and their families who are going through cancer treatment to have experiences that provide memories for the future
The £3000 minimum is inclusive of £1500 fees to cover the cost of the trip and I will be meeting these costs myself as I feel it would be unfair to ask others to pay. The remaining £1500 and extra raised will be from donations etc.
