      Cycle 4 Sepsis

    • cycle4sepsis16

Thanks for visiting our #cycle4sepsis 2016 team page.

For the fourth year running from  9th -11th September we will be taking to the road again. This year the team of Terence Canning, Darren Ware, Tony Morgan, Tim Price, Darren Coomber and possibly some others along the way if they fancy it, will be setting off to cycle approx 250 miles from..

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in North Wales to The Senedd in Cardiff Bay.

We will be stopping off along the way to meet hospital staff and members of the public who have been affected by sepsis. It's all part of our drive...well cycle..to raise public and prefessional awareness and to encourage the asking of the question "Could this be sepsis?"

We are doing this in memory of my brother Mark who died suddenly in 2012 aged just 41, for the 44,000 who die each year in the UK, for the 110,000 survivors and the countless familes and friends who are affected by sepsis. We hope our efforts will go some way to dramatically reducing this number. We are cycling to save lives and improve outcomes for survivors.

Your support is very much appreciated. Together we can do it.

      UK Sepsis Trust

Sepsis accounts for 52,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast cancer, bowel cancer and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is the acute bodily reaction to infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
