I have never known a young boy like Finlay James Church to have such determination to push himself through life, and raise thousands of pounds for this worthy charity, whilst battling his own terminal illness.

The news of Fin's passing at just 11 years old touched all of our hearts with such devastation and grief. We couldn't quite believe that after everything he had done to help others throughout his own 2 year fight with cancer, he had been taken away from us all.

When Finlay was diagnosed in June 2014, he and his family immediately reacted by setting up fund raising pages, and charity events to raise as much money as they possibly could. It all started with fairs and stalls, until they strived further and broke the world record for the longest line of teddy bears in a row, which was one of Finlay's biggest ambitions. They smashed the record with 15,534 bears in a row. He then continued with a grand 'Angels Without Wings'  ticketed ball, auctioning off paintings, holidays, and vouchers, which were all kindly donated by local business', raising a huge total of £54,216.65. With the huge amounts Finlay's family and friends still continue to raise, in April 2016 they purchased an MRI entertainment system TV/DVD for the 3T Scanner for Birmingham Children's Hospital. Finlay was very passionate about funding for one of these after enjoying the benefits at Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool.

On the 25th of November 2015, soon after receiving the Pride of Birmingham Award, Finlay James Church lost his fight with cancer. We, as family have pledged to never forget the amazing strength, courage and determination he held to fight this war in the hope that one day a cure can be found, and other family's do not have to go through what Finlay and his family did.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!  I am fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
