Story

Bob’s Bike Ride is an event created in memory of our colleague Robert Stevens.

AKA Bob, The Fox or El  Cid

Bob sadly passed away in May 2017 after a battle against Prostate Cancer.

Bob worked at Mountsorrel Quarry for many years of his life so he was well known across the large site. We have decided to come together and pay tribute to Bob by cycling from Mountsorrel to Skegness covering approximately 88 Miles.

This is going to be a real challenge as most the participants are complete novice cyclists, some not even owning a bike until this event was organised.

Bob wanted to take part in a charity bike ride to Skegness some years ago prior to becoming ill but Sadly the event was never organised so when we talked about doing something special to remember Bob we felt this would have seen his approval. Bob had even bought a bike so as a nice gesture Bob’s bike will be ridden on the day by Bob's very proud daughter’s son in law, Lewis Morton.

We would like to raise money for LOROS who gave Bob quality and compassionate care.

Please give us as much support as possible as we really do need it.

The Event will take place on Saturday 16th September
starting from the quarry entrance on Granite Way at 6:00AM.

There will be about 40 riders taking part as well as Support Team Members volunteering to help.

Please support and encourage us all by sponsoring us.  Every little bit helps, no matter how small.

Thank you so very much, we are all very grateful.
