I'm just wanting to try and raise a few quid for Keswick Mtn Rescue, I've been going up the fells since I was 14 and have had a few falls and crashes in that time, but thankfully always been able to drag myself home or back to the car.

I knew straight away this time that I needed some help, I was with a couple of pals, but with my lower leg dangling loose there wasn't much any of us could do.

Quick call to 999 and put through to Mtn Rescue they quickly took my details, told me what to do and that they'd be with me shortly. They landed within 20 mins and quickly got me comfy and set about getting me off the hill.  Couldn't fault them at all, they all done a cracking job.

Transferred to a waiting Ambulance and taken to the Cumberland Infirmary, spiral break at the bottom of my right Tibia, 4 days in Hospital, a Steel rod and a few screws in my leg and I'm back home.

The whole thing has been less than ideal, but sh*t happens, and I'm just grateful we have the Mtn Rescue on hand to help out when we really need them, you always think it'll never happen to you, but it can happen way to easily.

So, if any pals or fellow outdoor folks can spare a couple of quid, then that'd be great, hopefully you never need to call them, but it's nice to know they are on hand if you do.
