Story
Sadly, on the 20th July 2011 our dad died suddenly after 9 years of suffering from Heart failure. This is a significant year as it is 10 years since he passed. Unfortunately we had to cancel last year’s game so we are delighted that the game can take place this year.
The game is to firstly remember him but at the same time to raise as much money as we can for heart related charities. The pandemic has created a lot of challenges for charities given the number of events that have had to be cancelled. Over the past 9 years we have raised over £26,000 in his memory for charity and we would like to try and get this total over £30k this year.
This year a Stockton select squad will once again play a Acklam select squad. Stockton lost a recent friendly to Acklam so as usual this will no doubt be a hard fought encounter.
We will again be raising money for the South Cleveland Heart Fund. It is a fantastic regional charity and they continue to require funding to keep James Cook University Hospital, the Regional Cardiothoracic Centre at the leading edge of advances of care for heart patients.
As always there is no minimum donation as any contribution is
kindly received.
The game will be held at Stockton this year on the 1st team pitch, address as follows:
52A Oxbridge Ave, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 4JF and will kick off at 2.00pm.
Everyone is welcome so please come along to support the event if you can.
Thanks
Dan & Steve
