Hello all,

Myself, Mario, 40 and André, 33 both Portuguese
are embracing a huge physical and mental challenge and asking you to join us
and help RifCom ONG too.

Last year for my
40th birthday I gifted myself with a cycling
ride through Corsica
mountains and invited Andre
to join in what he happily accepted.

The challenge is
the ultra cycling event Bikingman Corsica.

Biking Man corsica
is a 1000km/120h race taking place around Corsica Island, from the 7th to the
12th June. Our aim is to cover the 1000km, 18.000mts
acumulated elevation in the 120 hours allowed (5days).

None of us are by any means
professional atlethes or have a considerable level of fitness.

I, Mario started cycling on 2018
and André in 1998 although with lots of stops on the way!

This will be a
true physical and mental challenge for both of us. It will be all tears of joy!

Since we want to
share our joy, we created this fundraising to bring joy to the people living in
the Moroccan Rif Mountains. And how we do that? Through RifCom.

RifCom is ONG from Gibraltar who in 2008 after witnessing first-hand the
poverty existing in the Moroccan Rif Mountains on a corporate challenge trek,
decided to reach out and help their neighbouring communities.

RifCom is a official registered non-profit charitable organisation run by volunteers from Gibraltar and
Spain. All the funding that allows RifCom
projects to develop have its origins on goods and monetary donations or
fundraising through its collaborators and friends.

I, Mario, in 2019 participated in a 100k, 4 days hiking to the top of Jbel
Toubkal organized and promoted by RifCom for fundraising. Since then, I do collaborate
with Rifcom everytime I can.

During my several visits to the Chefchaouen blue city and surrounding
area I did experience in local the difficulties of
living in the Rif mountains, witness how Rifcom is committed to help the Rif communities and all the support provided
through creating and promoting projects for children’s and adults scholar education,
health education and training, providing facilities and materials for disability
individuals, creating income activities and so many other activities related
with sports and social life.

RifCom always involves and gives ownership responsibility and
sustainability from the local populations. Helping communities to
help themselves is at the core of RifCom’s ethos.

Recently, due to the Covid19 situation we are all familiar, RifCom,
in collaboration with Association BASMA in Chefchaouen, continue to feed and
provide medicines for more than 120 families with disabilities, struggling
through this never ending pandemic.

In order to help Rifcom to help others, we decided setup a high fundraising target. Its our intention to raise 1€/£/$
for each km or elevation meter we do during the event. All raised funds will
revert to RifCom directly trough JustGiving platform. With
your help and contribution we will all achive the target together!
