Story

The first thing I'd like you to do is watch this video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8zaUfTohqU

Now having watched that and just in case you're not 100% on board yet, here is some further info.......we at Ripcor were planning a ride from London to Paris in 24 hours to raise funds for Pace Centre at the end of May but of course, Covid-19 had other plans. In fact, this annoying virus has hit the Pace Centre very very hard indeed as all outdoor fundraisers have been cancelled and Pace relies exclusively upon fundraising and donations to carry out the incredible work it does with children with sensory-motor disorders.

"So what ridiculous thing are you going to do to raise funds" I hear you ask? We are going to ride our bikes 107 virtual miles or kilometres each...that's upto 8 hours sitting on one of those uncomfortable saddles in a garage or a shed riding in a virtual world called Zwift on something called a turbo trainer. I can tell you this is no mean feat, it's not quite as pleasant as a sojourn across the English countryside under blue skies and sunshine and it's a lot less pleasant than sitting on an exercise bike in a gym where you can rattle off 25 virtual miles with relative ease whilst watching MTV. It is a grind, it's dull and it will require large amounts of chamois cream (I'll let you google what that is) to get through it. We are riding 107 because that number is significant, it is the number of children the Pace Centre supports. So we are going to ride 1 mile/km for each of them.

Ripcor exists because of the Pace Centre, it is the reason why Treve and Sean got it off the ground over a decade ago and we as members benefit from the camaraderie and bunch of brilliant bastards that Ripcor is. So we have the Pace Centre to thank for being the catalyst that brought us all together (even Dieter) and they need our support more than ever right now. It is hard to stress just how critical funding is right now...this is why we have organised this at short notice in order to provide some immediate financial support.

So please support the Ripcor team in their efforts to raise funds and awareness.
