Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For years I have suffered in silence with panic attacks and anxiety, I was very lucky as I had an amazing support group in family and friends. But before I was brave enough to talk to them about my issues, anxiety tormented me to my very core.

Finally the NHS and medical profession are recognising this as a major problem in our society, the more they dig into it the more people they find who have suffered for years in silence. It may shock a few people who have known me for years that I went through this anguish as i hid it well but if I can help others who are suffering in silence by dragging my fat carcass around a couple of 5km and 10km races, maybe doing a couple of crazy dares then I am game (within reason. lol )

Even if you are not in a position to give, please make time for someone who may be reaching out to you. An understanding ear is more important than you could possibly know, it will stop sufferers turning to alcohol, drugs and even self harm.

For anyone reading this, there are things that can help:-

Obviously contacting Anxiety UK (www.anxietyuk.org.uk ).                      talk to your doctor or a councillor (they are trained to advise you ), on YouTube have a look at "the anxiety guy" he has stories that you will be able to relate to so you know you are not suffering alone.                            

One thing not to do is self diagnose your symptoms. Google is a great search engine but they will always bring up the most extreme cases in their search results as they are the most interesting, which truth be known this only makes it worse.

Most of all, know you are not alone. I'm backing you.
