Story

Robbie's Rehab is an unusual charitable endeavour. There are very few gaps in the NHS's treatment of children with cancer. However, the outpatient rehabilitation of kids with brain tumours has been one of them. Whilst inpatient rehab is world-class, there has been no budget for the kids once they are discharged. Arguably this is when the children need it most - when they are struggling to get back to normal.

Robbie's Rehab now provides the NHS with exactly this service. June 2020 marked the end of a 3 year clinical trial. The trial - 100% funded by our charity - has been a success: Robbie's Rehab has proved to have been beneficial to the children to the extent that the NHS will commission the service in June 2021.

This will leave the charity free to fund our next phase: a permanent ward within Southampton Children's Hospital for children with all kinds of Acquired Brain Injury. The ward will of course be named 'Robbie's Rehab'.

This public sector / charity partnership is more than an ongoing clinical success story. It is also the legacy of one boy, Robbie Keville, whose idea it was. He had already lost his Mummy, Kate, to cancer three years before he himself became ill. He thought of the charity, named it and was present for its first event before he too left us in February, 2016, forever aged 10.

Importantly, all that you donate goes direct to the charity. Events themselves are privately funded.

This is a generic fundraising page for the charity. There are many other event-specific pages. Thus far, we have raised in excess of £800,000.

Many events have taken place. Please see our FB page at www.facebook.com/robbiesrally and our website at www.robbiesrehab.com.

Many thanks for your support!
