As a church we are walking the distance from Chorleywood to Kampala to support the work of Every Life. That's 9244km (5744 miles), or almost a quarter of the way around the world!

Story

As a church we are walking from Chorleywood to Kampala in support of Every Life. Five of us (James, Dibs, Georgina, Megan and Luke  - come back and visit us soon Alexia!) are committing to walk 500 miles (804km) of that during lockdown... that should 'take us' most of the way down France on our way to the equator.

You may not think 500 miles is a cause worth supporting but the work of Every Life definitely is!

As a family we have seen first hand the challenges of lives in the slums of Uganda and the great work the Every Life team do to support and empower these families to a brighter future.

The people Every Life work with in Kampala, Uganda and Kenya have been hit hard by lockdown. With no government furlough schemes, food banks or loans available to the most vulnerable many families have been left struggling to survive. Emergency food parcels, disease prevention training and medical assistance have helped bring families through lockdown. Now we want to support families to rebuild their lives and be able to feed their families again.

Every Life are providing business grants, training, counselling, hands on support and much more to help families get back on their feet now that another lockdown seems unlikely in East Africa.

Can you help us reach our target?

We work in Uganda, Kenya and the UK to empower communities and individuals to escape poverty for good! We love to offer 'in the moment' practical support. However we want to see people empowered to lift themselves from poverty permanently through teachings and training in community groups.
