Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are joining with several others to undertake the 24 Peaks challenge between 25th-27th April. The challenge entails climbing 24 of the Lake District's Peaks. We will be covering 32 miles over two days (24 hours walking time) and the total height trekked is over 13,000 feet.

We are doing this challenge to raise money for Romsey Mill, and inparticular the Aspire Programme, Romsey Mill's project with young people who have autistic spectrum conditions.

Matilda volunteers for the Aspire Programme, running youth clubs for these young people, so she has seen first hand the benefits these youth clubs can bring to the young people and their families. The groups create a safe autism-friendly space where autistic children and young people are understood and given room to make friends in a supportive environment.

Quotes from young people who attend the youth clubs:

"It's the only place where people appreciate who I am."

"The group feels like family. I feel welcomed and wanted. My friend at the group is the only person who has ever asked me if I want to do things with them."

"I like having a place that I can be myself without being judged."

Please consider sponsoring us as much as you can to help us raise much-needed funds for this work.
