We use play the power of play to enrich vulnerable children's lives.

Story

My name is Ronan Sarkar and I am volunteering with the
charity Play Action International to help them transform an empty field outside
a local Ugandan school into a new playground this summer. This is all in hopes
to provide the local children a safe place where they may freely play together
providing them an opportunity to learn and develop essential life skills and
also help nurture their physical, psychological and social development which is
an opportunity that they may have otherwise not had. We also hope for it to
have a small impact on the local economy with skilled work being outsourced to
local builders, providing them jobs for the construction of the playground and long-term
maintenance of it. To raise money for this playground and other playgrounds
that the charity is involved in building, I will be taking on the adventure Try-Athlon
challenge consisting of kayaking and rafting down the River Nile, biking past
Sipi Falls, and climbing 4,321m to the summit of Mount Elgon all to raise money
for Play Action International.

I will greatly appreciate any help to fundraise my £2250
target to try and help each of the local children to unlock their full potential
and give them the best footing we can for them to take on their future.

Here is a message from Play Action International:

Our mission is to ignite every disadvantaged child’s
potential through the power of play! In many communities across the world, play
is not seen as a priority, despite it being one of the fundamental rights of a
child. By increasing access to play and education, we support the long-term
health, well-being and employment prospects of children, empowering them to map
their own paths to brighter futures. Play gives children their childhoods back,
and we believe that every child, everywhere, deserves to enjoy the benefits of
play. Our team of volunteers will be heading out to Uganda in summer 2021 to
assist with transforming an empty field at a local school into an exciting new
playgrounds bursting with colour and fun, leaving a legacy for children to
learn and develop essential life skills and nurture their physical,
psychological and social development. They will also be taking on a huge
adventure challenge consisting of kayaking, rafting, biking, hiking and
climbing all to raise money for Play Action International!

By the way, 100% of your donations will be going towards Play
Action International, I will personally be funding any expenses for the trip.

Thank you so much in advance.

Ronan.
