Story
Hi Everyone,
On 27th May, RSM Badminton (part of Imperial College London) are playing 12 consecutive hours of badminton to raise money for the charity-funded Choki Traditional Art School in Bhutan (part of HYF-UK).The school is for the children of broken and disadvantaged homes, providing them with skills for local employment.
Sadly, the sports facilities at the school have fallen into disrepair due to erosion by severe monsoon rain so the children have very few opportunities to play sport. The money we raise will repair the existing facilities and allow the school to purchase badminton equipment! This project will cost £3000 which we know is a very ambitious target but we are keen to raise as much as possible.
As university students, we all recognise how lucky we have been to have an excellent education and we want to help disadvantaged students in an isolated and largely unsupported part of the world. As geologists and geophysicists, we care about the environment and the fact that Bhutan is the only carbon negative country in the world makes this cause even more personal.
We really appreciate your donations, thank you!
