Berlin Marathon 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

Every year we support thousands of children and families right across the country. We provide rehabilitation to help children make the best recovery possible after a serious accident or illness, both at our national specialist centre in Tadworth and in the community.

Story

6 months on and we’re still running.

Yep that’s right, in a matter of weeks we’ll be flying to Berlin to run 42km’s in a reasonable time and tick the marathon box.  Sounds easy, well compared to what thousands of others less fortunate than us have to go through every single day of their lives; It is. This page isn’t about us, it really isn’t.

The Berlin marathon will be hard. We will run in pain for much of the race.  We will push through barriers of belief. We’ll have blisters the size of Ireland. Our bodies will ache for weeks.

And yet, we have the choice to line-up on the start line and achieve. Every single one of you reading this page has that choice. The choice to live a normal life.  The choice to put your mind to something, and with a little application, just do it. How truly lucky we all are.

Please dig deep to support The Children’s Trust who do amazing work with disabled children, many of whom will never walk, let alone run.

Thank you,

Nick & Lyndell
