Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. With some other old crocks ( and 1 extremely fit diving type) I ran the British 10 K in London on Sunday 2nd July 2006 for the Service Charity COMBAT STRESS. We stuck close to the feller with the beer in his bergen and got round on a scorching day in 1hr10mins.
I know there are a million worthy causes out there - but Combat Stress is very special and close to my heart, following my brief stint in Iraq on OP TELIC 1 as a TA soldier - so far back I had to send my laundry forward !
I was lucky and came home in one piece. I also sleep most nights and my alcohol habit is pretty controlled
Some friends and colleagues ,both regular and TA, have been less fortunate. Combat Stress anticipates 700 new referrals in 2007.
Please find it in your hearts to dig deep and sponsor me online. This page will remain open for a couple of months.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: COMBAT STRESS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Go daft - acquire a little merit, put a favour in the favour bank - and help me to raise just a few more quid for this very worthy cause. Good on you! Many thanks for your support.
Roger
