The five of us (Brian, Caroline, Philip, Stuart and Geoff) have decided to run the Deep River Rock Belfast City Marathon this coming Bank Holiday Monday 1st May 2017 as a relay team named "OVT" to raise much-needed funds for The Oasis Village Trust - an orphanage housing children in Ndola, Zambia. It also works closely with children from a local village called Sakania.

The aim of Oasis Village is to provide a home for orphans and vulnerable children. In a homely environment the children will feel loved, secure and have a sense of belonging. In addition to accommodation Oasis will provide for the educational, physical, spiritual and medical needs. Most of the children may have had a difficult beginning but we believe that they will finish well. Another target group that Oasis intends to help is that of widows. These ladies will be empowered by being given preference for employment as house mums.

Our team is privileged to be running for this charity which is really making a difference in the lives of such vulnerable children.
