Story
On the 9th of October I am running in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in memory of my son Evan. Evan tragically passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in 2019 from SIDS at only 6 weeks old.
I am so incredibly proud to be Evan's mother and I miss him with all of my heart. I hope that I can honor his memory and make him proud by raising money for SLOW (Surviving the Loss of Your World). A charity that helps to support bereaved parents after the loss of their child.
Their support saved my life.
Evan was such a big, beautiful baby with a big smile and who is so incredibly loved. He will always be such an important and special part of our lives and I hope that through fundraising I can help others and share his story.
This is my third time running this event. Normally I raise money for The Lullaby Trust but this year I wanted to give back to a charity that has helped me so much.
The support of family and friends who have donated in Evan's memory have helped raise over £8000 towards charity so far and I would like to thank all of you for making this possible and for keeping Evan in your hearts.

SLOW - Surviving the Loss of Your World - is a London based charity run by bereaved parents and siblings providing support for bereaved families. Bereaved members say their support groups are a lifeline, giving them the chance to connect and share their experiences with other bereaved families. Here's what one bereaved parent said about the support she has received from SLOW:"SLOW literally kept me alive. In the early days I just wanted to kill myself, I was just in a dark place. I didn't see a future. I can absolutely say, without a doubt, that without SLOW I wouldn't be here."Donating to SLOW enables the charity to continue supporting bereaved parents who have suffered the devastating loss of a child.
