Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Mark's death was a sad loss for anyone who had pleasure of meeting him, he effortlessly carried off the enviable nickname of "Smiler", and his energy and enthusiasm was contagious.

10 of us who regularly played squash with him are going to try and Run the Burghley Park Rat Race and raise funds for Mind in memory of Mark on Saturday 11th May 2019.

If we can raise funds to make a difference and fund a service to be able make a call or message at someone’s lowest ebb then this relatively short term pain of a gruelling obstacle course  will be worth it.

In our rural and often isolated community suicide is becoming more and more common, Mark is not the first to end his life this way but if we can raise awareness or stop one more person feeling there is no way out of their personal circumstances then this will have been worth it.
