Story

In 1970 Radio West Fife started broadcasting a range of programmes to patients in Dunfermline hospitals. With changes in hospital provision in Fife in 2012 Radio West Fife started broadcasting online as a community radio station for Dunfermline and West Fife. Throughout those years we have been grateful for the support and encouragement from organisations and public bodies in West Fife. Now we are taking on a new and exciting challenge. OFCOM, the regulator for broadcasting in the UK, has awarded Radio West Fife the FM Licence to be the FM Community Radio station for Dunfermline and West Fife. We believe this a great opportunity to add a new dimension to the cultural and social life of Dunfermline and West Fife as well as creating a great opportunity for a station that represents Dunfermline and provides access to radio for people and organisations that struggle to make their voices heard on larger, Fife wide and national stations. We believe that Radio West Fife is that station!
