Story
I have been part of UpRising's Environmental Leadership Programme for 3 months and I am now in the process of developing an environmental action campaign to make the city of Manchester more sustainable. I really believe in the potential of this organisation to change young's people lives and to empower them with the knowledge and skills to allow them to become future leaders.
I took on the Challenge of giving up chocolate for a month (until the 4th of March...yes, I am counting!) to raise money for this organisation, allowing future young adults to benefit from the amazing opportunities that Uprising has to offer.
The reason why I picked chocolate? During one of the weekly sessions at UpRising, I learnt that it is a very unsustainable product, as it takes more than 17,000 litres of water to produce 1 kg of chocolate. Make sense right?
It won't be easy (I am a chocolate addict XD), but I am ready to take on this challenge, knowing that I am contributing to turn young adults into future leaders and to change the society through their future environmental and social action campaigns.
