Story
Hello peeps! This is my first time cycling on a roadbike and first time supporting Newborns Vietnam by riding 450km through the hills of Vietnam. We will be riding through Northern Vietnam, starting in Sapa and finishing in Hanoi, riding on average 150km per day for 3 days during 2-5 May 2019. Yes, I will be wearing padded shorts to protect my butt, all in the name of saving the world.
A little about the charity: In 4 years Newborns Vietnam reduced neo-natal mortality in Da Nang by 50%. This was achieved, firstly, through basic care, hygiene and updating fundamental equipment and, secondly, through a comprehensive training program for doctors and nurses provided by specialists from the UK and US. The founder of the charity, Suzanne Lubran, and all the medical professionals that have achieved this success have done so through selfless and unpaid dedication.
Two years ago, the event raised close to US$100,000 -- then approximately a year's funding for the charity. However, the Vietnamese government has noticed the results that Newborns has achieved, and they have asked Newborns to roll out the program in Hanoi. This increases their funding needs significantly.
I really appreciate your support. I will buy lunch for anyone who donates more than HK$500. Thanks a bunch :)
