I'm taking on the Aspire Channel Swim 2017, swimming the distance of the English Channel over 12 weeks to raise money for Aspire. 

Aspire provides equipment, advice, housing and grants to people with spinal cord injury:  helping them to regain and live their lives with independence.  

Every eight hours someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury.  I have seen how dramatically life is changed for the individual and their family, and how much both have to grapple with.

In support, I will be grappling only with the logistics, tedium, and as yet un-demonstrated task of swimming 118 lengths (of a 25m pool) each week.  I aim to raise over £2,000 in total, and to that end will match any sponsorship I receive up to £1,000.
