Those of you that know us will be more used to seeing us run to the bar on a night out rather than attempting to run 13 miles! However, for 2016 we decided to set ourselves a personal goal to get fit and do something good for charity.

We both agreed that we wanted to give something back to our wonderful NHS and looked for an NHS charity that’s wide reaching and already providing support to people we know including ourselves.

Barts charity fund’s extraordinary healthcare, supporting patients and staff across the five hospitals of Barts Health NHS Trust – St Bartholomew’s, Mile End Hospital, Newham University Hospital, The Royal London and Whipps Cross University Hospital.

• All money raised is put to good use across every department from paediatrics, cancer, cardiac, trauma and respiratory, to name but a few and include both hospital and community based projects.
• It’s a far reaching charity helping some of the most deprived communities in Europe.
• Our support can help fund innovative projects that aim to address the many social challenges and associated health problems faced by disadvantaged communities in the City and East End.
• It has the busiest paediatric A&E in London seeing over 35,000 children alone each year with referrals received from across London, the UK and internationally.
• It also has a world-class cancer research and treatment centre which helps cancer patients UK wide for treatment and worldwide in terms of research.

So please dig deep and donate.
