Story
We are a group of ladies, nicknamed ‘The Blister Sisters 2019’, who have all been affected in various ways by the impact of Breast Cancer. On 15th August 2019 we will be embarking on a 70 mile charity walking challenge to circumnavigate the Isle of Wight over a five day period.
We will be raising funds specifically in aid of the ‘In the Pink’ Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Programme which is delivered by a local charity called ‘Supporting Confidence Through Exercise’ (SCTE) across Leicestershire .
This 8 week free programme provides a stepping stone opportunity for those who have endured breast cancer to re-engage with life, rebuild their confidence and self-esteem through activity participation. The life-force of the Programme is to ensure that every woman has the ability to regain a sense of wellbeing that had been lost from
diagnosis through surgery and into recovery.
"Having had my lumpectomy on 4th February 2019, I was nervous it was too soon. The programme commenced on 20th March! But I was reassured from beginning to end! The provision was second to none and this actually became my safe haven in my recovery. Would I recommend the programme YES! YES! YES!" Bridget Age 56
