2020 has been a year of anxiety, uncertainty and loss and more people need support than ever before. This Christmas, it is widely recognised that we are in a mental health emergency. The demand for the services of Cornwall Mind - our local mental health charity - has been unprecedented. 

This Christmas will be very different for so many of us. We feel the overwhelming need to do something positive - we need to ensure that Cornwall Mind can be there for those struggling with their mental health in 2021. 

With this in mind, friends Lucy, Nic and Caroline have decided to set themselves a bracing fundraising challenge this festive period  - to swim in skins (just our swimming costumes!) everyday for the 12 days of Christmas starting on Christmas Day and finishing on January 5th. 

It is going to be COLD! The sea temperature is around 10 degrees, the air temperature often much colder but will be dropping as we head into the new year.

The widely reported physical and mental health benefits of cold water swimming are well documented and we feel blessed to live in this wonderful county where we have a choice of coasts, bays, quays, rivers and tidal pools to ensure we can dip safely each day, whatever the weather! Brrrrrrrr!
