Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a bunch of storytellers from Emerson College, located in the heart of Boston! We study film, television, writing, etc. and deeply care about mental health advocacy.

The executive producers of the web series, "Shadow Minds," include Ben Nadler, Phoebe Loew, and Carl Stewart.

"Shadow Minds" tells the story of a group of students fighting shadowy manifestations of their fears and anxieties. Set in the fictional school City College Boston, the web series will feature storylines with sensitive and accurate portrayals of mental illness, ranging from depression to varying anxiety and personality disorders.

Mental health is definitely near and dear to all three of the producers. We want to create a show with characters that are relatable for those living with mental illness, as well as donate money to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness states that suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people aged 18-24. College is a definitive time for students as well as an enormous change in environment. So many people lack an understanding of what can develop during this time. By normalizing a respectful and supportive treatment of mental illness by those around an individual with a disorder, we hope to encourage positive behavior to help people help each other and themselves

We are going into production in mid-February and early March, so we're short on time! We have been lucky enough to already reach our fundraising goal to produce the web series. Therefore, any money we raise from here on out will be directly donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Thank you so much for donating! And we look forward to sharing "Shadow Minds" with you.
