Story
Heyy!
Firstly, I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In summer 2019, I'll be trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru, through The Little Things charity which will involve taking part in the Salkantay trek, a 5-day trek (70 km), reaching a peak of 4608 metres.
The Little Things
A student-led charity that aims to improve global healthcare worldwide in developing countries by providing poorly funded hospitals and clinics, with needed funds and adequate medical equipments. Their previous projects include:
- Successfully equipping an eye clinic for St Elizabeth Hospital- Tanzania.
- Completing a Premature Baby Clinic Project - Sri Lanka.
- Raising funds to support Base Hospital Point Pedro and Base Hospital Tellipallai - Sri Lanka.
- Supporting Tamakoshi Co-operative Hospital - Nepal.
For their fifth healthcare project, The Little Things charity will be raising funds to renovate the children's ward in Gulu Regional Referral Hospital in Nothern Uganda. The hospital serves a local population of 250,000 and currently only offers basic medical services.
Trekking Machu Picchu
My aim is to raise £2600 of which £1300 will be going towards renovating the children's ward and the other half towards an once in a lifetime experience of trekking through Machu Picchu organised by the charity.
I would greatly appreciate any donations! Every little penny will count and help immensely towards making healthcare more accessible to children in Gulu!
