Thanks for visiting
Ian and Nicci are going to be driving from London to Mongoila over the summer of 2012 to raise money for War Child. As someone who teaches English to teenage refugees, many of whom come from war torn countries, I know how war can affect children's education and daily lives. War Child is a small charity that works directly in countries affected by war to make a difference.
The journey will take us through 3 deserts and over 5 mountain ranges. It is completely unsupported and if we encounter any problems, mechanical breakdowns or border crossing issues we will have to use our ingenuity and wit(?) to sort ourselves out. Hmmm maybe we should be doing one of those car mechanic evening courses?
When we arrive in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia, the car that will have taken us all that way is auctioned off and the money donated to the Lotus Children's Centre, another charity that we are supporting.
During our journey we are going to be sporting a range of rather marvellous moustaches which we hope will be appreciated by the peoples of the world!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now, every single penny will make a difference.
Many thanks,
Nicci and Gemmie xx
