Story
A lovely 81 mile bike ride across beautiful rural Scotland sounds like a breeze...but considering my fitness levels and distinct lack of cycling experience, it's not going to be easy. The ride involves a 1,196m climb and considering my first (30k) training ride almost killed me...it's going to be a very tough day for me personally.
I approached this as a personal challenge to begin with, but seeing the fantastic work that Marie Curie do it was not a hard choice to raise money for such a great charity. Their remit is providing care and support to the terminally ill and their families - helping over 40,000 patients last year. 7 / 10 carers say those with a terminal illness don't receive the care and support they need, both practically and emotionally - so I hope you will give generously to support them in their invaluable work.
As a little insight:
£20 - pays for 1 hour of care for a terminally ill patient.
£90 - ensures care through the evening.
£180 - ensures a carer can stay overnight.
A little goes a long way so I appreciate your support no matter the value - I assure you it will keep me going when my legs are gone and I'm being overtaken up a hill by an OAP.
Thanks so much
