Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our journey began over 30 years ago. Since then, we have supported hundreds of people with a disability into employment, and hundreds more people are engaged in meaningful activities that progress learning, build confidence and independence enabling them to lead the very best lives they can. We are a values led organisation and believe that with the right support people can achieve amazing things and have a valued presence in their communities.
At Pure Innovations, we believe that everyone deserves a life filled with meaning, opportunity, and belonging. Our approach centres around the individual, ensuring they have fair and equal access to the everyday, ordinary aspects of life that everyone values. We support people to live purpose-driven lives, where they can:
Build good relationships and lasting friendships
Access opportunities for learning and personal growth
Explore employment and develop fulfilling careers
Grow in independence and confidence
Create a life that feels purposeful and rooted in community
Pure is driven by a set of core values that ensures all colleagues, clients, partners and supporters are treated equally and with respect. This has allowed the charity to continually grow and develop within an ever-changing and challenging environment.
Respectful: We treat people the way they wish to be treated
Aspirational: We aim high for everyone
Responsive: We listen to other to adapt in response
Inclusive: We are welcoming and involve all
Supported Internships enable young people with learning disabilities, neurodiversity’s and mental health related problems to make the transition into paid employment and enhance key social skills.
Interns spend four days per week with their host employer alongside daily on-site classroom sessions, completing three job rotations for ten weeks throughout the year. Each step towards completing the course prepares interns for future work, at which time Pure will support the interns into paid jobs with their host employer or identify other opportunities that align to their career pathway.
The programme is a combination of partnership work between a host employer, a college providing tuition and our own specialist Employment Team. The timescale mirrors the academic year, and the usual format is three, 10-week work placements. By working in partnership with a wide variety of employers across different industries, interns quickly develop new skills to support their career pathway and with the right attitude, often secure a paid contract.
