Story

The Team at MRC PPU are aiming to cover the distance of the North Coast 500 route over the next 30 days by walking, running, cycling, swimming etc. We are also trying to encourage one another to 'green up' our commute this month by swapping the car for a greener alternative. We will also be adding together the total amount of elevation we complete and be equating that to how many Munro's that means we have climbed.

After just 1 week we are already past 250 miles which would have us around the Clachtoll Bay and Old Man of Stoer area (pictures above). We have also climbed the equivalent of Ben Nevis more than 4 times. So we are well ahead of our target... maybe we will be able to do the North Coast 500 two times over?

With just 1 week to go we have now surpassed our original target, reaching a grand total of 673 miles. We have also climbed 15228m of elevation - that is almost equivalent to the combined height of the 14 highest Munros (Ben Nevis, Ben Macdui, Braeriach, Cairn Toul, Sgor an Lochain, Cairn Gorm, Aonach Beag, Aonach Mor, Carn Mor Dearg, Ben Lawers, Beinn a' Bhuird, Beinn Mheadhoin and Carn Eige.) It is time for the final push to see if we can double our original target distance.
