Story
Newcastle Marrow is a part of the network of lifesaving students who work with the blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan. There are over 50 Marrow groups, with hundreds of student volunteers (like us!) in universities across the country, who are all working towards one thing - saving the lives of people with blood cancer.
It costs £40 to add each potential lifesaver to the stem cell register. Every penny and every pound that Newcastle Marrow raises will help to continue saving the lives of people with blood cancer.
So for our April fundraiser ‘Miles for Marrow’, this year we are going to be undertaking a 780mile long virtual journey from Newcastle upon Tyne to Newcastle, Switzerland (Neuchâtel). We will be walking, swimming, running and cycling and all distances will be recorded on our Strava club. Everyone is aiming to raise £40 each, which is how much it costs to add someone to the stem cell register. You can keep track of our updates throughout the month here, and please support us if you can :)
