As Doosan Babcock Graduates we like to aim for the top, however this time we may have over done it… On the 12-13th of September we will attempt to scale the three highest peaks of Scotland, England & Wales within just 24 hours in what is known as the 3 Peaks challenge!
Please help us by donating whatever you can to the two magnificent charities we are supporting Angus Young Carers (AYC) & Bibic.
Meet the Team:
There are ten of us graduates who are brave (silly) enough to attempt this. So let’s meet the team, there is:
Andrew ‘12 Hours Max ’Dibbs
David ‘The Sherpanator‘ Wrightson
Edward ‘Back by supper‘ Johnstone
Euan ‘The Mountain Goat‘ Gillespie
Fraser ‘Walk in the Park‘ Ross
Peter ‘The Mountain Eater ‘ Adair
Peter ‘It's just three big hills‘ Walker
Sungjun ‘Are we there yet? ‘ Huh
Tania ‘Can I bring my dogs?‘ Russell
And finally
Will ‘This'll be easy‘ Gray
There will be several warm up climbs in the build up to the event and of course the inevitable team selfies at the top of each peak so remember to check this page for all of the latest updates!
Our Challenge:
We will begin our journey by climbing Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak, oh so happy in the knowledge that it is the end of summer rather than the middle of winter. Upon our return to the bottom we will hop into the minibus and make our way to the second peak Scafell Pike. This is a long journey which gives us plenty to sleep off the first mountain and come to the realisation that this is going to very hard. Once we have completed Scafell Pike and are thoroughly exhausted we will make our way to the final peak, mount Snowdon. By this time, we will no doubt be running on fumes, and that is why every penny that we can raise is important, as we will need every little bit of motivation to drive us to the top and finish our journey within the 24 hours.
Why?!
So at this point you are probably thinking that we are all mad, and although you are probably right, it was actually very easy for us to all come together for this challenge. The reason being that in April of this year, during our annual graduate conference, we were introduced to two fantastic charities AYC & Bibic. We were all so touched by the stories they had to share and the work they do that we had to come up with a plan to see how we could help them.
Therefore we hope that you will follow our links below to each charity, read about the incredible work they do and donate to our cause as we can only do this with your support!
Thank you for reading and we will see you at the top! ;)
