A team of 16 employees from RBS International are taking on the ultimate cycling challenge that the United Kingdom has to offer: cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End to raise over £65,000 for the local RNLI.
Ridden as a relay team, the End-to-End challenge will see the team cycle from the most north-easterly point of Scotland to the southern most tip of England.
Teams of five or six will take turns to ride for four hour stints then resting for eight hours before returning to cycle having only had a few hours of sleep. This rotation will continue throughout the night and into the next day for three consecutive days until the challenge is complete!
The riders are expected to cover the 1,000 miles in approximately 60 hours, averaging an impressive 16/17 mph over the distance. The riders will be supported throughout the challenge by a team of support staff, also from the Bank.
All funds raised will go towards the challenge target of £65,000; which aims to fund the annual training for the Channel Island RNLI crew - did you know it costs £1,255 to provide annual training for one crew volunteer!
So please dig deep and donate now!
